Solzen Set For Action

My Way De Solzen could be back in action later this month as connections consider their starting point with the exciting seven-year-old.

After winning three of his first four starts over fences last season, the Alan King-trained gelding produced a top-drawer performance to win the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Put away afterwards, My Way De Solzen could return to the track on October 28 in the Aintree race Kauto Star took first time out last term.

Barbury Castle-based King said: 'This year he's a little bit ahead of schedule. He was very gross and very heavy when he went to Wetherby (first time last year).

'He's a bit lighter this year and he'll either go to Aintree at the end of the month for the Old Roan Chase or possibly wait for the Charlie Hall the following week.'

Connections only decided to tackle the Arkle in preference to other races at the Festival a few days before the two-mile novice championship in March, and King is keen to keep an open mind regarding potential options for his crack chaser.

'For the time being (we'll keep our options open), but my first real target for him is the King George and we won't think about Cheltenham until after that,' he told At The Races.

'He's a magnificent horse with a lot of quality. Everything he does, he does with a bit of style.'
