Song Heads Lockinge Hopefuls

Soviet Song tops 15 horses left in Newbury's Group One Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at the latest forfeit stage.

The six-year-old mare is set to make her seasonal bow in the May 20 contest after an injury kept her on the sidelines towards the end of last season.

Soviet Song was last seen when a narrow second behind Proclamation in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and she is on course to clash with that rival again at Newbury.

Now with Godolphin after leaving the care of Jeremy Noseda, Proclamation could be joined by stablemate Valixir in the race.

Aidan O'Brien has left in Ace and Ad Valorem while Sir Michael Stoute has recent Sandown winner Rob Roy along with Peeress.
