Song Of Time takes opener

Song Of Time from the Paul Deegan stable justified favouritism when coming home in front of the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden in the hands of Willie Supple.

Supple sent the 15/8 favourite to the front from over two furlongs out and the pair soon sprinted clear to record an easy nine length win.

Winning trainer Deegan said afterwards: “She did it well, she had a lovely first day at the office at Leopardstown and I think the step back in trip suited her today.”

“She probably hasn’t beaten a whole lot this evening but she’s a tough and genuine filly with plenty of boot.”
