Southwell gets green light This afternoon's jumps fixture at Southwell goes ahead as planned after the course passed a second inspection. Although the track was partially frozen when officials first looked at 0600 GMT, rising temperatures, allied to a steady overnight thaw, offered cause for optimism. The ground was declared suitable for racing after clerk of the course Roderick Duncan inspected the Nottinghamshire circuit two hours later. He said: "The frost is coming out of the ground and it's safe enough to race. "In four hours' time we will be all right as we are rapidly improving.''
