Soviet On Song Ahead Of Sussex

Soviet Song remains on course to bid for back-to-back successes in the Cantorsport Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday.

James Fanshawe´s mare stood her ground at the five-day stage for the mile Group One in company with 14 others.

And she is reported to be in good form after her scintillating victory in the Falmouth Stakes at the Newmarket July meeting, another race she was winning for the second time in a row.

'We have confirmed her today,' said Fanshawe on Friday. 'She seems fine and everything has gone well since Newmarket.'

Jeremy Noseda´s exciting Proclamation is also on target, having pleased partner Mick Kinane in a racecourse gallop last week.

The three-year-old son of King´s Best was an impressive winner of the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot at York last month, and will be looking to supplement a course and distance success gained earlier in the season.

Other notables left in include Nayyir, a dual course winner and who just failed to reel in Soviet Song 12 months ago, the progressive David Junior and John Gosden´s unbeaten Sleeping Indian.
