Spencer out until Thursday

Jamie Spencer will be out of action until Thursday at the earliest due to the combination of a toe injury and a suspension.

He has been sidelined since riding at Leicester on Wednesday evening when he was unseated from Biaraafa on the way to the start.

He steered that horse into third place and filled the same spot on Silver Symphony in the following race before being stood down by the racecourse doctor for the rest of the meeting and missing a winner in the process.

Spencer gave up his rides on Thursday and has decided to give the injury more time to heal by also resting today and tomorrow.

He is then banned for four days, from Sunday to Wednesday inclusive.

"His big toe has blown up and he won't be riding today or tomorrow and he's banned for four days so he's just going to give it plenty of time to heal," said his agent David Harrison.

"His toe is swollen and bruised so he feels he won't be able to do the horses justice."
