Spent All Me Money strikes on first start for Sexton On his first start for Adrian Sexton, Spent All Me Money sprang a 25/1 (drifted from 10s) surprise in the first divide of the Curragh To Curragh Cycle On 30th August Handicap. Formerly trained by Jack Davison and successful at Roscommon in May, the No Nay Never three-year-old was given a patient ride by Shane Foley. Kept to the inner on the turn for home, he made progress with over two-furlongs to go and continued to work his way through the field when ridden. Getting to the front inside the final 150 yards, he was all out at the line to hold off the late thrust of Touted Plan, with just a nose between them. The runner-up was returned at 12/1 under Gary Carroll for Joe Murphy, while Verhoyen (13/2jf from 16s early) was half-a-length away in third. Anthony McCann's Rising Sky was the other joint-favourite, with this one finishing eighth. "I was away in Australia for a long time and was training before but wasn't going to go back training," Sexton explained. "My son Harry wanted to have a go at being a jockey and we've just built a new yard. It has taken for ever to know whether we are giving them too much or not enough. "Everything has been a bit up in the air but it's coming right, and I'm delighted for the owners. "I was worried whether I was going to get off the mark this year or not, but we've got there." STWARDS REPORTS * G.M. Ryan, rider of Rising Sky, trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room out of the stalls. * The Raceday Stewards interviewed M.M. Rice, trainer of Proleek Prince, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he had to change the over girth as it did not fit. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given and took no further action. Additional reporting by Alan Magee
