Spinnette pleases in Lingfield work-out

Spinnette completed her preparations for the Vodafone Oaks with a racecourse work-out under big-race jockey Jamie Spencer at Lingfield today.

Trainer Jeremy Noseda, who also saddles Mellow Park in next Friday`s Classic, was pleased with what he saw as the twice-raced filly worked with two stablemates over about a mile and a half on the Polytrack surface.

Asked by Spencer to quicken around the final bend, Spinnette eased to the front and comfortably proved too good for her companions.

'We didn`t want to ask her any big questions, but she has got some experience of a turning track,' said Noseda.

'Jamie definitely rides her at Epsom and he said that she was well-balanced and took the turns well, that was the most important thing.

'He said he didn`t think there would be much travelling better, it is just a question of whether she stays.

'She has always given me the impression that a mile and a half would be no problem and I would have had no question running her over a mile and a quarter at two if there had been a suitable race.

'But she is by Spinning World, so on breeding there may be a doubt.'

As well as the Musidora Stakes runner-up, Noseda will also be represented by last week`s Lupe Stakes winner, Mellow Park, on whom Darryll Holland will retain the ride.

'She`s in great heart - I`ve no complaints,' the trainer reported.

'She will work at the weekend and then that will be that. All we can ask is that we get some genuine good ground so we get a fair race and we all know where we stand.

'The only going we don`t want would be very firm ground but I imagine it`s about good to soft at the moment and I`m sure there is some more rain to come before the race.'
