St James's Palace for Emotionless Emotionless remains on course to make his seasonal return in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. Having taken a decision to sidestep the 2000 Guineas with the three-year-old, trainer Charlie Appleby is now looking forward to readying him for the Group One on June 14. The son of Shamardal finished last on his final outing in the Dewhurst last October, after which it was discovered he had sustained a knee injury. The Newmarket handler said: "Emotionless is in good order and, all being well, we are still heading towards the St James's Palace Stakes. "He is back in work, although he didn't really miss any (work) - he just dropped out of galloping. "He has continued his routine exercises for the past three weeks since we decided to not to run him in the Guineas to give him time for him to strengthen. He has done well." Should Emotionless make it to Royal Ascot, he could be joined by stablemate Folkswood following his successful return to action in a mile handicap at Newmarket last month. Appleby added: "He has come out of his last race well and we might look towards something like the Britannia for him or something like that. "He goes on quick ground and he saw the mile out well."
