Stack hoping ground stays soft for Minds Connections of Great Minds are hoping for "a bit of rain" at Haydock Park ahead of his tilt at the Group Two betfred.com Temple Stakes on Saturday. The sole Irish challenger, Great Minds has done his winning with cut in the ground and heads into the race on the back of two victories. The five-year-old beat Bold Thady Quill by two and a half lengths in a Listed race at Cork and followed that by winning another Listed contest, this time beating Musical Comedy by three-quarters of a length at Naas. "The ground is soft enough for him at the minute, we'll just have to see what happens, but he's there to take his chance," said trainer Tommy Stack's son and assistant, Fozzy. "It's another step up in grade for him, but he's ground dependent. He could have a long summer off. Hopefully they will get a bit of rain to keep the moisture in the ground."
