Having landed the corresponding race 12 months ago, the Willie McCreery trained Stag Night doubled up to win the Naas Farm Machinery Handicap.

Sent off a 13/2 chance, the gelding tracked the pace under jockey Leigh Roche before coming through to press leader Gerrit's Gem over a furlong out.

Getting to the front over 100 yards out, the eight-year-old stayed on strongly up the hill to win snugly by a length-and-a-half.

Willie McCreery said: "It's his third time to win this race. When the rain comes, he just needs this softer ground. I still say Brendan Curley(farrier) keeps him alive. He's got terrible auld quarter cracks, which are an unusual thing in Ireland. His whole foot is made up of plastics. Brendan does a great job with him. He just doesn't feel anything on that softer ground and he lets himself down. He's not a bad horse on his day."
