Star Strewn sprang a surprise as she won at odds of 40/1 in the concluding Racing Again September 29th Handicap at Cork over a mile.

Originally with current trainer Cormac Farrell, she had a short stint with Ado McGuinness where she won a Dundalk maiden impressively on stable debut, but she never went on thereafter. The Starman filly clearly needed the run at Gowran last time out.

Owned by Adam Potts, Cormac Farrell and Brian Sheerin, this three-year-old filly broke sharply and made all under Rory Cleary. She fended off the late surge of the 100/30 favourite Highbury See See to win by a neck.

Winning rider Rory Cleary recalled how "She won a maiden for Ado McGuinness when she was quite impressive and afterwards came back to Cormac (Farrell) on a break, and her same owners (Adam Potts & Brian Sheerin) kept her with him.

"She showed plenty early in her career, showed her true colours today and should improve again. She is fairly versatile ground-wise."
