A strong Irish presence features among the possible runners in the Stobart Doncaster Cup on Friday.

The two-and-a-quarter-mile contest on Town Moor is again the target for last year's winner Saddler's Rock, who is trained by John Oxx.

Third in the Ascot Gold Cup, the four-year-old won the Goodwood Cup at the Glorious meeting before finishing ninth in the Lonsdale at York.

He could be joined on the journey from Ireland by the Willie Mullins-trained Simenon, a dual winner at Royal Ascot.

Tommy Carmody's Ebor runner-up Royal Diamond runs in the colours of Andrew Tinkler, chief executive officer of the Stobart Group.

Leading the home defence is Gold Cup winner Colour Vision for Godolphin, while John Dunlop has Lonsdale winner Times Up and John Gosden could potentially saddle 2011 St Leger winner Masked Marvel.
