Strong Irish Challenge at Aintree Galway trainer, Paul Gilligan, who had a double with Best Of The Lot and One Cool Day at Southwell on May 27th, goes in search of further success cross-channel today at Aintree when the former is one of three horses he sends into battle. Nephin Lad and Best Of The Lot will both sport the silks of Dr Anthony Browne and will be partnered by Wexford native, Tom O'Brien. Best Of The Lot is towards the head of the market for the two mile betdaq.co.uk Handicap Chase at 7.45. Meanwhile Buenas Noches is an outsider in the 8.20, the Cleanevent Novices' Hurdle and Gilligan will give fellow Galway man, Ardrahan native, Paddy Brennan the leg-up on this Slip Anchor gelding. Gilligan had two second placings at Fontwell last evening when Berties Dream and Capall Eile both ran fine races under Andrew Lynch. Also at Aintree, Clare handler, Noel Glynn has two of his charges in action. Gonebeyondrecall faces Quell The Storm (a smashing sort from the family of First Gold) in the aforementioned 8.20. Quell The Storm is in the ownership of Sir Alex Ferguson and Ged Mason. This two and a half miler should be a fascinating heat and Tom O'Brien is this time in the saddle on Gonebeyondrecall. Tom Scudamore is due to team up with Island Myth in the 7.10.
