Strong Irish challenge for Vote AP Gold Cup

There is a strong Irish challenge at Cheltenham today with Champion Jockey Tony McCoy set to partner Galway Plate winner Finger Onthepulse in the race named after him, the Vote AP Gold Cup Handicap Chase.

The Tom Taaffe trained Finger Onthepulse is one of five Irish runners in the race.

Tony Martin's Psycho likely to be a strong fancy following his recent Naas win while stablemate Northern Alliance, Noel Glynn's Gonebeyondrecall and Paul Magnier's Duers complete the Irish challenge.

Elsewhere on the card, Gordon Elliott is set to run Chicago Grey, an unlucky loser here last month, in the Drs Contracts Novices´ Chase and Carlito Brigante in the Grade 2 Unicoin Homes Relkeel Hurdle.

The Jimmy Coogan trained Ber Spieler has at best an outside chance of winning the Grade 2 Stanjames.com International Hurdle while James Larkin's Red Sparky has a big ask in the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial.
