Strong Link stayed on well to take the honours in the Racing Again 4th July INH Flat Race over 2m4f in Wexford.

John Gleeson's mount swept through to lead inside the final furlong and kept up the gallop to see off 10/11 favourite Thedeviluno by two and a-quarter lengths. Times A Wastin (66/1) was a further three and three-quarter lengths away in third.

Strong Link improved upon placed efforts in Navan, Down Royal and Naas.

Ross O'Sullivan said: "It's a great local winner because I bought him off Jamie Codd, my brother-in-law. Billy, Jamie's father, bred him and my sister Robyn is here too.

"He is owned by a good man from Laois, John Rowney.

"He had winter form and he handles a bit of nice ground so it's lovely to have him. He is a nice-moving horse and he'll stay going once the ground is safe over the summer.

"He'll probably go hurdling as he is a great jumper and it's lovely to get that win today. He got a nice ride by John Gleeson as well."
