Paddy Twomey is hopeful Currawood “can continue the upward trajectory” that has seen him win both starts this year as he tackles Listed company in the Coolmore Stud Henry Longfellow Irish EBF Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon.

The son of Acclamation followed up a Dundalk maiden win by stretching clear inside the final furlong to score by over five lengths at Cork last month.

“He’s a bit stronger this year than last year and hopefully he can continue the upward trajectory,” said Twomey.

“I was a bit concerned about the soft ground in Cork, but Billy said he loved it. I’d say he’s fairly versatile.

“As a two-year-old he was a bit long and weak and he’s after becoming a horse as a three-year-old. That’s why we didn’t over campaign him at two.

“Hopefully he goes well in the Curragh.”

Currawood probably has most to fear from Officer who won a maiden here last year and only went down by a length when third on his reappearance at this venue in the Lester Piggott Gladness Stakes.
