Sugar Boy Joins Marco Botti Marco Botti is in no rush to make future plans for Sugar Boy after the Newmarket-based Italian was confirmed as the new trainer of the exciting three-year-old. After beating subsequent Epsom Derby second and third Libertarian and Galileo Rock in the Sandown Classic Trial in late April, the Authorized colt was snapped up by leading owner Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum ahead of his Classic assignment in last weekend's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. The owner confirmed the colt would make his final start for Irish trainer Patrick Prendergast at the Curragh, before moving on to a new yard, and the three-year-old was unable to sign off with a positive showing, trailing home last of nine runners. Prendergast reported the colt "very sore" on Sunday morning and Botti is keen to assess his well being before identifying targets for the rest of the campaign. Botti said: "He's an exciting horse, as he showed when he won at Sandown, and we are lucky to get him. "Unfortunately, the ground was too quick for him at the weekend and he is a little bit jarred after the race, but that can happen and he is still lightly raced. "I'm not sure when he will arrive. They are arranging things with the shipping company at the moment. It could be the end of this week or the start of next week. "There is no point making any plans until he arrives at the yard and we have time to reassess him, but we will obviously bear in mind what happened on Sunday and will probably try to keep him away from fast ground."
