Sujet justifies market confidence under Keane The Dermot Weld trained Sujet landed some tidy bets when staying on well close home under Colin Keane to win the Cumnor Rated Race at Killarney. Available at 3/1 in the morning, the Juddmonte owned gelding was popular with punters, supported at all rates down to 5/4f. Keane tracked the pace on the market leader, as Sunriseontheboyne led Mathan. Moving second early in the straight, Keane produced Sujet to challenge the leader over a furlong from home. However, the later found plenty under Terry Casey, battling away on the rail. until Sujet eventually got on top inside the final 100 yards to win by a neck. Colin Keane said: "I think his Galway defeat was more ground-related and Chris (Hayes, jockey then) felt it the ground was slower than described. He isn't overly big and has a real low action and prefers a nicer surface. Saying that, it is plenty safe this evening and is as slow as he'd like it. "The leader (Sunriseontheboyne) is a typical one of Michael's (Mulvany) as they are fit and hardy and don't seem to stop. "I'm sure connections will have ideas on where to go next but Champions Weekend could be a possibility." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes.
