Supreme's plans for their mares Uranna is likely to test the water in Graded company at the end of the month after getting off the mark in determined fashion at Limerick over the festive period. Having shown up well in French bumpers in her youth, the seven-year-old returned from over two and a half years off the track at Limerick in early November, and was not disgraced in finishing third behind Kauto Grand Mogol. She confirmed that promise with a battling success on her return to Greenmount Park, and connections are anticipating further progress. Steve Massey, manager for owners the Supreme Horse Racing Club, said: "Truth be told, it was a massive relief for us when she won her maiden at Limerick after waiting so long. It goes to show you need plenty of patience if you're going to get involved in this game but that patience gets its own reward. "She jumped like a buck and travelled really well before showing plenty of guts to battle it out to the line. "She will improve again for this and will be stepped up in grade next time out, which looks like it could be at Fairyhouse on January 31 in the Grade Three mares' hurdle. "She should really come into her own next year over fences." Another talented mare for the syndicate with black-type aspirations is Ask Vic. The six-year-old pushed subsequent Limerick winner Martello Tower close on her penultimate start at Cork, but was pulled up in a race won by stable companion Black Hercules at the same track last time. Massey is confident she can bounce back. He said: "On the face of it she was very disappointing at Cork last time. The only two poor runs she has had to date have been down to coming into season unexpectedly. "She's heading back to Willie's this week and the form of her previous race is working out really well with the winner, Martello Tower, beating Outlander in a Graded race great next time up. "Her number one target this season is the Grade One at Fairyhouse on April 5."
