Supreme Lords it over rivals in opening nursery Supreme Lord asserted in fine style in the closing stages to take the opening nursery at Navan this afternoon. The Amo Racing-owned colt was to the fore throughout in the race, over just shy of six furlongs, and was asked to hit the front from Howlin Wolf passing the furlong pole. Robson De Aguiar’s charge found another gear in the final furlong as the 11/8 favourite went on to post a three-and-three-quarter length success under Billy Lee. The Starman colt was making his handicap debut today after contesting some strong maidens. “He's a horse that we have always liked,” said the trainer afterwards. "He (Lee) crossed over and forced him to take the lead. He is learning how to race and is still babyish. "Billy thought he had a lot in the tank, and he said he could go seven furlongs. "It is good that he got confidence from today and learned how to go off the bridle. "There's plenty of power in that horse. I think when he starts to learn in races he could turn into a real nice horse. "I'll see what the handicapper does and probably come back here again. We'll step him up after that."
