Swedish trainer eyes Ascot again Swedish trainer Diego Lowther is likely to have a second crack at the Stg£150,000 Tote International Stakes following an highly-encouraging run with El Gran Lode in the Ascot handicap last summer. He has Securite (9st) and Moon Parade (7-12) among the 86 entries for this year`s running of the seven-furlong event on De Beers Diamond Day, July 28th. El Gran Lode`s run, where he finished eighth of 24 runners, has created interest among other Swedish trainers with Hangover Square (8-10), trained by Lennart Reuterskiold, and Nils Lindgren`s Shawdon (9-0) also among an 11-strong overseas entry. Special Discount (8-0), a Listed scorer for Criquette Head-Maarek, is one of four French entries, while Marweh (8-12), who took a Listed prize when trained by John Hammond in 2000, is Thirsk trainer Lynda Ramsden`s sole entry. Amanda Perrett`s Tillerman, who carried 8-10 to victory 12 months ago, has 9-2 this time. The weights are headed on 9st 9lb by the Michael Jarvis-trained Lincoln Dancer, runner-up in last season`s Group One Darley July Cup.
