Swinbank Planning Collier Campaign

Collier Hill could head to Germany or Royal Ascot for his next outing after being pulled out of Friday's Yorkshire Cup due to the rain-softened ground.

The Alan Swinbank-trained eight-year-old was only scratched hours before the race after conditions on the Knavesmire turned soft, heavy in places.

And Swinbank is now mulling over options for last year's Irish St Leger winner, with the Melbourne Cup a long-term possibility.

The trainer said: 'He could go to Germany in a couple of weeks for a Group race. If the ground was not right for him he would probably go for the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot instead.

'If all went well there we would have a look at the Melbourne Cup. There is also the Sportsmans Cup at the Curragh.'

Swinbank also believes Friday night's Hamilton runner-up Ouninpohja will come on for the run.

Sent off the 6-4 favourite for the Listed Braveheart Stakes, the five-year-old failed by a neck to land his sixth race on the bounce.

Swinbank added: 'Ouninpohja was beaten only a neck at Hamilton, he just needed it and will win next time.

'He may run in a Group Three in either Cologne or Dusseldorf three weeks tomorrow, and he could be an Irish St Leger horse ? there is not a lot for him.'
