Switch gains deserved success for Sextons Likealightswitch justified her short price with an easy success in the William Hill Challenge Mares Maiden Hurdle at Gowran Park. Likealightswitch Justifies Short Odds with Ease Harry Sexton bounced out in front on the 2/9 shot, trained by his father Adrian, and she had her rivals at work over the second last. The Soldier Of Fortune mare was slightly untidy at the final flight but picked up smartly when asked for an effort and soon asserted for a cosy seven-and-a-half length win over Chautuaqua. Likealightswitch was gaining a deserved success having been placed five times previously. "She is an extremely difficult mare to train, she is very hard on herself but is getting better with racing,” said the winning trainer. “When she learns to race, she will be a hell of a mare and until now, it is only very good horses who have beaten her. "She doesn't give you a minute at the races, is always so angry which isn't a good thing as you are trying to harness her and not let her burn herself up. She is the best I've ever had though and I'm very lucky to have her.  "I have a plan for maybe Fairyhouse or Punchestown and it is great for Mark (Dunne) who is my sponsor and this is his first horse. Mark owns Optimum Logistics and is our first yard sponsor. "I'm delighted for Harry as well as, like me, he has had plenty of placed horses since Christmas. We aren't betting people but having a 2/9 favourite is added pressure, although it is done now so I can relax." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
