On a sad day for the Gordon Elliott yard, following the loss of star mare Fayonagh, Synopsis gave them something to cheer about when taking the finale at Navan this afternoon.

The Azamour filly, in the colours of David Spratt, was sent to post a 12/1 shot but came with a strong run under Gary Carroll to lead a furlong from home.

She stuck on well at the end of the ten furlong fillies handicap to record a length-and-a-half win over Two For Tea

The winner showed some promise on the third of three hurdle runs for the yard when fifth at Leopardstown last January but was well held on the Flat at Bellewstown back in July.

“It’s nice to get her back on track and she should win over hurdles during the winter. She likes a bit of soft ground,” said Elliott.
