Willie Mullins landed a quick double at Punchestown this afternoon when Sysko claimed the two-mile-three maiden hurdle.

The Bathyrhon gelding went to post a 10/11 shot and hit the front going to the fifth last flight. Son Of Anarchy tried to throw down a challenge going to the last but Sysko found plenty to post a length-and-a-quarter success.

Winning ride Sean Cleary-Farrell said:- “He raced a lot more keenly than I thought. I always knew he’d travel strong but he was doing too much for me.

“At the top of the hill he was starting to get a bit of a run. If I wanted to I could have kept him there but I just thought he was going to use up too much on himself.

“I let him roll away and it was fairly straightforward from there.

“He just kept galloping and he’s a very nice horse.”
