Syzygy scores for McLoughlin & Coen The only handicap debutant in the line-up, Syzygy (12/1) landed the second division of Gowran's BOYLE Sports Home Of Early Payout Handicap under Ben Coen. A second winner of the week for young Curragh trainer Danny McLoughlin, Andrew Davis' homebred was pushed along in fifth turning for home as front-running Pandion Power was clear of the field. The three-year-old daughter of Cable Bay came home well in the final quarter-mile and wore down Pandion Power in the closing stages to score by a length. Coen reported: "She’s a nice filly. She had two runs for Danny and he said she’d appreciate the cut in the ground, which probably made the difference today. It slowed things down for her. “She was still quite green but picked up and hit the line well so I’d say further will suit her as well. “Hopefully she can be progressive on slow ground.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
