TEAATRAL OFFER TURNED DOWN

Owner Bernard Gover has turned down a Stg£200,000 offer for leading Bonusprint Stayers` Hurdle hope Teaatral, he revealed today.

The bid came after his seven-year-old landed last Saturday`s Agfa Hurdle at Sandown.

Teaatral`s owner Bernard Gover said: 'The offer was made via my racing manager Peter Burrell but I don`t know which client was being represented.

'Teaatral is very dear to me and has now won 10 races.'

Gover admitted that the Charlie Egerton-trained gelding`s Sandown victory had taken him by surprise.

'I don`t know how anyone could have backed him on form on Saturday as we were running over two miles,' he said.

'It was nice to get the prize-money but I was also appalled as I had Stg£250 to win on Geos!'

All 10 of Teaatral`s wins have come on right-handed tracks, and he will bid to add to the tally at either Wincanton or Kempton next time out.

But Gover added: 'Tony McCoy got off the horse at Cheltenham the previous week and said thatgoing left-handed wasn`t a problem.'
