TIPSTER JAILED

English racing tipster Ron Dawson and his former accountant were today jailed after being found guilty of conspiring to defraud thousands of shareholders in a bloodstock company.

Dawson, 62, was imprisoned for 12 months and accountant Andrew Irish, 48, was sentenced to 15 months by a judge at Basildon Crown Court in Essex.

Both men were last month each convicted on two counts of conspiracy to defraud by a jury following an eight-week trial.
