TIZNOW HORSE OF THE YEAR Tiznow, the conqueror of Giants Causeway in last November`s Breeders` Cup Classic, was named Horse of the Year for North America at the Eclipse Awards ceremony in New Orleans last night. The Californian-bred colt dominated the voting for both Horse of the Year and champion three-year-old colt or gelding. Tiznow, who remains in training this year, was becoming the first three-year-old to be champion having not competed in the Triple Crown since Wajima in 1975.Kalanisi, the Sir Michael Stoute-trained hero of the Breeders` Cup Turf, won the award for outstanding turf male. While All Gong, formerly trained in England by Nicky Henderson, took the awarf for leading steepclechaser. In the non-equine categories, the big winner was Frank Stronach, who was named champion owner and breeder. The other individual awards went to jockey Jerry Bailey, trainer Bobby Frankel, and apprentice jockey Tyler Baze.
