TWO ARRESTED AFTER BURGLARY AT DEAD JOCKEY`S HOUSE

Two men, including a friend of the late American jockey Chris Antley, have been charged with robbery at the home where Antley was found dead last month.

Timothy Wyman Tyler Jr, 24, who was a friend of Antley`s, and Jeffery Robert Jones, 22, of Sun Valley, were charged with one count of first-degree residential burglary.

Superior Court Judge Terry Smerling set bail for the two at US55,000 each. They are due back in court on January 26 for a preliminary hearing.

The two were arrested after neighbours called police reporting two men in Antley`s yard with property they thought might have been removed from the vacant house, Pasadena police said.

Tyler, a Pasadena resident, had also been arrested with Antley on Sept. 28th, when they were caught by police in the house with suspected illegal drugs.

Tyler was also arrested on December 3rd - the day after Antley died - on three outstanding warrants involving drug and driving under the influence violations, police said.

An autopsy showed Antley, who rode two Kentucky Derby winners, died of a multiple drug overdose.

Police initially investigated his death as a possible murder case, citing head injuries to the 34-year-old jockey. However, the Los Angeles County coroner has subsequently said that the injuries were non-fatal and self-inflicted.
