Tabti off the mark on King's Fury at Gowran Park No stranger to success in Britain, French apprentice Mohammed-Lyes Tabti rode a winner on his first ride in Ireland when taking the two-year-old Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden on the Joseph O'Brien-trained King’s Fury at Gowran Park. Previously with trainers Paul Cole and Ian Jardine before teaming up with Joseph O'Brien in July, Tabti was riding his 57th winner in all. He brought the 25/1 chance, the outsider of O’Brien’s three runners, through to lead well inside the final furlong to beat Aidan O'Brien’s 9/2 shot Paraguay by two and three-parts of a length. Joseph O'Brien also supplied the race’s 3/1 joint-favourites, with Wo Wo Never third under Joey Sheridan while Dylan Browne McMonagle’s mount Acknowledge was only sixth. O’Brien said, “We liked him a lot first time but he ran a bit below expectations. We had the bit of time with him since then. “He was working nicely but we weren't sure what to expect after he ran below par on debut. It was a nice performance today. “Mohammed (Tabti) is a lovely guy. He's a good rider and he was getting on well with the horse at home so we thought it made sense for him to ride him there today. He gave him a lovely ride and I'm sure he'll ride plenty more winners.”
