The Dermot Weld trained Tachos overcame the potential disadvantage of a high draw when keeping on best under Chris Hayes to win Division l of the Bulmers Live At Leopardstown Handicap.

Sporting first-time cheekpieces, the daughter of Gleneagles was patiently ridden from her unfavourable berth before being produced late to land the spoils.

Pushed along towards rear over two-furlongs out, as Tribal Moon kicked from the front, Hayes weaved a path into seventh over a furlong from home. Zipster led briefly over 150 yards out, before Tachos got to the front deep inside the final furlong.

Dermot Weld said: “She’s American owned by Greg Ryan and this filly has been a model of consistency.

“Chris was a long way back but they had gone pretty quick and she’s a very genuine filly.

“There is a fillies handicap here next week and she could very well be back for the same course and distance.”
