Taipan could take on the Master

Tom Mullins could let Made In Taipan lock horns with dual Champion Chase hero Master Minded in the Connaught Chase at Cheltenham on Sunday.

The seven-year-old had to make do with the runner-up spot in the Fortria Chase at Navan at the weekend as Big Zeb ran out a convincing half-length winner.

"At the moment, Made In Taipan would be about 60-40 to go to Cheltenham," said Mullins.

"He ran a very good race at Navan last time, I was very happy with that and he is well in himself.

"Davy Russell was very happy with the horse, we were just a little bit taken aback by how easily Big Zeb beat us.

"He ran well enough in the Arkle at Cheltenham last year so the course will not be a problem.

"If the rain comes, he would have a squeak."

A total of nine horses remain in the two-mile contest at this stage, with Master Minded's trainer, Paul Nicholls, having also left in Free World.

Last season's Champion Chase runner-up Well Chief could make his return to action for David Pipe, while 2006 Champion Chase winner Newmill is another possible.

Striking Article, Kinkeel, Mahogany Blaze and William Butler complete the possibles.
