Tammys Hill returned to winning ways as he took the FleetConnect Joseph R. O'Reilly Memorial Hunters Chase under James Smyth for trainer Liam Lennon.

The 8yo son of Tamayaz finished second on his last two outings but sent off the 2/7 favourite this evening he got back in the winning groove scoring comfortable by three and a half lengths.

Held up and settled in rear, the bay gelding jumped left at plenty of fences and he done well to avoid being brought down at the fifth last when Russian Regent fell in front of him.

He improved to challenge Carsonstown Bridge and Ballytrim as they turned for home with the latter fading tamely soon after.

Tammys Hill jumped left at the second last and was then switched to the outside before the last.

He hit the front on the run to the final fence, where he again jumped left, but he kept on well on the run-in to beat from Carsonstown Boy (8/1) under Noel McParlan for Colin McBratney into second.

Winning trainer Liam Lennon wasn’t present as he was at Loughnamore point-to-point in Co Antrim this afternoon, where he saddled Highly Unlikely to win the Winners Of Three.

It was reported after the race that the winner will now go for the Champion Hunters Chase at the Punchestown Festival.
