Tarn takes plunge in Anglesey Tarn aims to show the colts the way home in the Jebel Ali Racecourse & Stables Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday. Tommy Stack's juvenile was handed what looked an extremely tough assignment on her course-and-distance debut, pitched in against Jim Bolger's long odds-on favourite Intensified, who had previously run high-class colts Sir John Hawkins and War Command close. However, Tarn sprang a surprise by turning over the hot favourite and now gets her chance to test the water at Group Three level. Fozzy Stack, the trainer's son and assistant, said: "She won her maiden well the last day and she's been pleasing us since. "She'd shown us plenty before that first run. We thought Jim Bolger's horse would be hard to beat given his form, but, having said that, we'd have been disappointed if we hadn't finished second. "This is a step up for our filly, but hopefully she'll give a good account of herself." Aidan O'Brien has saddled seven previous Anglesey winners and is this year represented by Oklahoma City and Wilshire Boulevard. The seven-runner field is completed by Bolger's Home School, the David Wachman-trained Mansion House, Mick Channon's British raider Jallota and Patrick Prendergast's Dai Bando. Curragh's eight-race card kicks off with the Darley EBF Maiden, in which the impeccably-bred Australia is sure to be all the rage. A son of Galileo out of the exceptional mare Ouija Board, Ballydoyle's inmate fluffed his lines at the start on his debut at the track, but fought back to finish a close second. The third home that day, John Oxx's Kerkeni, is also in the field, while Bolger, Dermot Weld and Johnny Murtagh all unleash interesting newcomers.
