Tawaazon bursts through late to gain ninth career win The John Andrew Kinsella trained Tawaazon gained the ninth win of his career when flashing home late to win the TRM Kurasyn Handicap at Naas. A Curragh winner off 90 in his prime for James McAuley, the seven-year-old was registering a first success since joining his current trainer. A promising fourth back at the Curragh on his most recent start, the son of Invincible Spirit showed that he was still a force to be reckoned with in this lower grade. Prominent throughout on the favoured stands side, the 7/1 chance kept on well under Keithen Kennedy to head Pinar Del Rio and Never Shout Never close home. “He’s tumbled down the handicap. He’s a fair work horse,” said Kinsella. “We ran him on Monday over seven at the Curragh and it was just that little bit too far for him without a bend. “He toughed it out well there, he looked in trouble a furlong out but he wanted it today. “That’s his first win for me, he’s down the handicap a long way since we got him so he’s entitled to get that. “He’s got his head in front now so hopefully he can get it in front again.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson.
