Tendon Trouble For Martello Tower Martello Tower is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after pulling up in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham in March. The Mags Mullins-trained gelding won the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Prestbury Park in 2015, but results have been mixed since. With blinkers applied, hopes were high the nine-year-old would show his true colours on his return to the Cotswolds, but his jumping was far from fluent. Amateur rider Steven Clements called it a day before the 15th fence and it was subsequently reported he was lame on his left hind. Owner Barry Connell said: "He's not good. He slipped a tendon off his hock. We'll just have to wait and see what the prognosis is, but he'll be off for quite a while anyway. "We'll know probably in the next few months whether he's going to make a comeback. "If he does come back, it'll be after a fair length of time off. The prognosis for that injury normally isn't very good."
