Teofilo Heads Dewhurst Entries

Jim Bolger's unbeaten colt Teofilo heads a high-class list of 25 juveniles engaged at the five-day confirmation stage for Saturday's Darley Dewhurst Stakes

Last month's National Stakes hero could again lock horns with his vanquished Curragh rival Holy Roman Emperor, who spearheads a nine-strong Aidan O'Brien entry for the Newmarket contest.

The Danehill colt subsequently ran out an impressive winner of the Grand Criterium at Longchamp and could be joined by Eagle Mountain, an emphatic seven-length winner of Sunday's Beresford Stakes.

O'Brien can also choose his final representatives from Astronomer Royal, Brave Tin Soldier, Chinese Whisper, Mount Parnassus, Naigani, Red Rock Canyon and Trinity College.

Peter Chapple-Hyam's unbeaten Hamoody and the Paul Cole-trained Strategic Prince, winner of the Vintage Stakes last time, would ensure the home team is well represented if they line up in the Group One feature.

Other interesting possibles at this stage include Mick Channon's Superlative Stakes winner Halicarnassus, John Gosden's improving Rallying Cry and the Eoghan O'Neill-trained Vital Equine.

The latter lost his unbeaten record when third behind Holy Roman Emperor in France but could renew rivalry with O'Brien's colt at Headquarters.

Impressive Middle Park winner Dutch Art and the progressive Admiralofthefleet are among the most notable names to have dropped out at the confirmation stage.
