Terrific tuned up for Cheshire Oaks Aidan O'Brien is out to win his fourth Weatherbys Private Banking Cheshire Oaks in the last seven years with Terrific at Chester on Wednesday. The 1.3million guineas filly won twice as a juvenile and stayed on for third place behind stablemate Dazzling in a Listed race at Navan on her return. "She ran well in Navan and won't mind going round a bend. She is lazy, which is why she wears blinkers. It's just to keep her occupied as she doesn't do a lot - she was like that last year. She's in good form, she stays and she'll get the trip well," O'Brien told At The Races. "Chester is a good, sharp track and it's not too hard on the horses. It doesn't bottom them out and sharpens them up mentally as they learn to switch on to their left leg. They do a good job on the ground in Chester." Charlie Hills runs Brown Diamond, still a maiden but only three lengths behind current Oaks favourite Taghrooda on her racecourse debut at Newmarket last September He said: "She's a very nice filly and has been working really well. This is a big step up in class but we think enough of her to put her in a contest like this. "She's got to get the trip, though, so we'll be patient with her. She's got a good turn of foot, so if she stays well I'm sure she'd have a great chance. It's a tough race, very competitive, but she's a filly we like and I think she's capable of competing in races like this." A very interesting contender is John Gosden's Bright Approach, who won a Newbury maiden on her debut. That form could hardly have worked out better as the runner-up, the Roger Charlton-trained Be My Gal, won a Listed race at Goodwood on Saturday. Bright Approach runs in the colours of Saeed Manana, carried to success in the 2000 Guineas by Night Of Thunder. The owner's racing manager Bruce Raymond said: "You would like to think she goes there with a good chance. This looks the right race for her, John nominated it immediately after the race she won. This is the next step, but the way she won would suggest she should be ready for it. You would like to imagine that she will have improved for her debut." Sir Michael Stoute is represented by Psychometry, second on her first two starts at Ascot and Newmarket and a winner at Kempton at the third time of asking. Owned by the Niarchos family, it has always been the intention to begin her Classic season in this trial. Racing manager Alan Cooper said: "She has wintered very well. She has been nicely progressive in her work but tomorrow is a test, we will know an awful lot more about her after this. We will certainly know where we stand with regards to the rest of the season. This has always been the race we have been aiming at with her, so it will be interesting."
