Testing conditions at Roscommon

Following persistent rain at Roscommon yesterday afternoon, the going at the mid-western venue will be soft this evening with fresh ground not available.

Yesterday afternoon's mixed meeting began with the ground described as good (National Hunt) and good to yielding on the Flat course. However that was changed to soft after the sixth race.

There is another mixed card at Roscommon this evening with the first of seven races due to get underway at 5.50pm.

Meanwhile the advance going for the meeting at Navan on Wednesday is good to firm, good in places. This fixture was originally scheduled to be run at Fairyhouse but was switched due to ongoing problems with the racing surface.

There are two evening meetings on Friday, with Limerick reported as good and Down Royal good to firm. The northern track is being aggravated, with the National Hunt course watered.
