The Austrian is another for Harrington & Foley A fast-finishing second on his previous outing at the Curragh, The Austrian landed odds of 4/7 (from 6/4 this morning) to take Listowel’s Eric Browne Memorial Maiden over a mile and a half. Owned and bred by Mrs Cristina Patino’s Anamoine Ltd, and out of a half-sister to the brilliant Snow Fairy, the New Bay gelding tracked front-runner Teoest. He ran around after hitting the front a furlong and a half out, but wasn’t hard pressed to account for the pacesetter by two and a quarter lengths. "He is a nice horse, and the penny only dropped with him late on at the Curragh the last day,” said winning trainer Jessica Harrington. “He was still a bit green today, but travelled better through the race, although the track probably didn't suit him. "Hopefully he will step up into Listed company, and he is one for next year." Harrington and stable jockey Shane Foley were completing doubles after the earlier win of newcomer Storm Ready.
