The Big Chap has proved a great servant to connections and will bid for an eighth career win at Musselburgh on Saturday week in the £100,000 Bet365 Scottish Champion Chase.

The son of Policy Maker won three times over hurdles and has added a further four victories since sent over fences including the €45,000 STL Logistics Handicap Chase at Limerick in October.

“It is an extended 2m4f which will suit him and the ground will suit him,” said trainer Paul Flynn.

“He might be badly handicapped, but I don't know. (Gavin) Brouder is going to go over and ride him which is brilliant.”

Brouder partnered The Big Chap to finish third on his penultimate start in the €45,000 Timeless Sash Windows Foxrock Handicap Chase at Navan.

The 22 entries also include the John McConnell-trained Seddon, who won the Magners Plate Handicap Chase at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, and Tom Gibney’s Mr Saxobeat.
