The Curragh on Sunday beckons for Galway winner Lord Massusus The Joe Murphy-trained Lord Massusus took advantage of a notable drop in class to win the Donnellys Of Barna Rated Race at Galway at odds of 5/1, his first success since April of last year, and he might well run again at the Curragh on Sunday. Owned and bred by John Bourke, the six-year-old was recording his eighth career success, each with Gary Carroll in the saddle, a haul that includes two premier handicaps, two listed races and the Group 3 Desmond Stakes. He led off the home turn before stretching clear to score by a most comfortable four lengths from 7/2 joint-favourite Lady Arwen. Joe Murphy said, "It was a nice race to win for the horse's mentality. He ran well here during the festival, and Galway this year has been my Ascot! "We love him, he is a family horse so we are able to forgive him and he won well today. "He is in the Northfields at the weekend and, years ago, you'd be killed (by the handicapper) for winning this and then running in a big handicap.
