If not bombproof, as shown by the defeat of Highland Realm at 2/5 in last year's renewal, backing Willie and Patrick Mullins to win the Friday night bumper at the Tramore August festival is pretty good as systems go, and 4/5 favourite Long'way #160;enhanced their record in this particular race when readily taking the Clem Jacob Hire Flat Race over two miles.

Father and son Mullins have now won this race seven times in the last eight years, with all their winners starting at odds-on.

Here, Jackie Mullins' Galiway mare went to the front travelling well running into the dip and scored with the minimum of fuss, beating Tale Of Intrigue by four and a quarter lengths.

"She's a filly I have for a while," said the winning trainer.

"I think I bought her a two-year-old. She was a little immature and it all just came together in the last six weeks.

"I just targeted Tramore, I always like having nice horses down here. I think she's a filly that can go a long way. I think over hurdles she could be a black-type filly. She could make a good novice hurdler.

"She hit the front and she looked all over the place.

"Patrick thought she won very easy. When he gave her a squeeze, she was going away again at the end. She pulled very hard during the race, so that wouldn't have been a help. A lot of things went wrong and I was still happy with the way she won. I think she's a real decent filly."
