The New One set for Haydock on Saturday The New One is among seven left at the confirmation stage for the first running of the Betfair Price Rush Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday. Last season's Champion Hurdle third and Aintree Hurdle winner got off the mark for this campaign at Kempton last month. The six-year-old, trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, is reported in fine shape by jockey Sam Twiston-Davies. "I schooled him (on Monday morning) and he seems in excellent form. He jumped really nicely," the trainer's son told At The Races. "He goes there in great form and obviously it's another building point towards the Champion Hurdle. "I saw Hurricane Fly win (on Sunday) and he looks as good as ever. "He's some horse and something for the rest of us all to look up to." Jeremy Scott has put in his top-notcher Melodic Rendezvous, winner of three Grade Two's last term and seventh in the Champion Hurdle. Venetia Williams has engaged the highly promising Zamdy Man, unbeaten in three starts season including two on this track. Tim Easterby's Hawk High, winner of the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, Mick Easterby's Lightening Rod, the Evan Williams-trained William's Wishes and John Quinn's Aurore D'Estruval are the other possibles.
