The Wow Signal retired to stud The Wow Signal has been retired to stand at Sheikh Joaan's Haras de Bouquetot stud in France for the 2015 season. The John Quinn-trained colt won the Coventry Stakes and Prix Morny during a fine juvenile campaign and was being prepared for the Qipco 2000 Guineas before meeting with an injury setback. Racing advisor Harry Herbert said: "We are very sad that The Wow Signal has had to be retired. It is always disappointing when a horse like this is prevented from reaching his full potential. "His two-year-old form has emerged as some of the best in the world and I have no doubt that he would have gone on to be an exceptional three-year-old." Quinn said: " He is a very tough horse with a great constitution and tremendous acceleration who ran well on all types of ground. He put in an outstanding performance to win the Prix Morny. "He is a very special horse and I am sure that he will make a great stallion. We will miss him very much but I look forward to training his offspring in the future." A son of Starspangledbanner, The Wow Signal won three of his four starts, earning just under £250,000 in win and place prize-money.
