Plans are fluid with Thedevilscoachman after he fell in the Grade 1 Drinmore novice chase at Fairyhouse last Sunday.

The six-year-old gelding ran after getting his favoured soft ground, but weakened quickly after the penultimate fence and fell at the last.

Noel Meade identified a couple of jumping errors which may have contributed to his charge dropping away.

"He hit the fourth last and the third last very hard. Now whether that had a bearing on him getting very tired, because he had travelled very well into it, I don't know, so maybe that's what happened," the trainer said.

"I doubt it is his run, I don't think it is anyway. It will be a while before he is out again."

Thedevilscoachman won at Grade 2 level over flights and made a successful transition to fences when obliging in a beginners' chase in Galway at the end of October.

He holds Grade 1 novice chase entries at Limerick and Leopardstown over Christmas.
