Talent will aim to clinch her second Classic of the season in the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster after connections opted to bypass Thursday's Yorkshire Oaks.

Ralph Beckett's filly ran out a breathtaking winner of the Investec Oaks at Epsom, but disappointed when finishing last of seven runners in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh.

With no other explanation evident, Beckett is putting that dismal effort down to the fast ground in Ireland and he feels it would be unwise to let his filly tackle similar conditions at York this week.

Beckett said: "We still don't really know why she ran so badly in Ireland, but she doesn't have a fast ground action at all and by far and away her best run was on good to soft at Epsom.

"The most logical explanation for her run at the Curragh was that the ground was very fast and it would be foolhardy to run her on fast ground again when there is no busting need to do so.

"For that reason we've decided to skip Thursday and aim for the St Leger, providing the ground is suitable at Doncaster."
