Thorne's English Lincoln Quintet ground dependent Trainer Stephen Thorne has said that it depends on the ground as to how many horses, if any, he is likely to run in the English Lincoln at Doncaster. Thorne, who has made a bright start to his training career. currently has five entrants for the first big handicap of the Flat season. When asked if they are ground dependent, he replied: "Yes, exactly. "Obviously, Gleneagle Bay will be very ground dependent. I'd say he will definitely be on the cards to go there. We'll come here (Dundalk) for a prep run before that. "Some of the horses that have been running well on the all-weather this winter have been given speculative entries just to see if some of them could improve. Far From Dandy could be a big improver from three to four. "Pink Oxalis is there, but she more than likely will target the Irish one (Lincoln) first. I think there is two weeks between both races, so we'll see. "Possibly (could do both races), she's a big fan of the Curragh. She won on Oaks weekend last year, so her target will be Irish Lincoln and we'll see how we get on then." Additional reporting by Michael Graham.
